lecture on citizen journalism

Taking seminar always seems so boring for me but when i read the soft board of my department that there is a seminar of citizen journalism organized by Dawn News my mind automatically diverted in attending that seminar.

It was 29th january 2011 i just went to universty where the seminar was just about to start.Owais Mangal Wala Anchor and producer of Dawn News was the speaker of the seminar, what he discuss in the seminar have a look, First he discuss the four types of Citizen journalism:


Sharing of experiece: sharing of experience includes that a journalist should share his own experience.

Sharing of opinion: It includes that a journalist should have his own experince and point of views.

Sharing of discovry:A journalist should discover new matter and approaches.

Sharing of experties: A journalist should have the expertness characteristic of a professional person, have a knowledge or skills of an expert.

Then he explain the proper way of writing a report and give some main points and guideline of writing a report which are given below:

• It should be real.
• Be creative and presents thing in a different way.
• Be prescribed.
• Be accurate about all facts and figures.
• Should follow the code of conduct.
• Keep your eye on every issue.
• Avoid plagiarism
• Don't wait for the big issue.
• Grammar should be correct.
• Should follow the correct format.

In the end of seminar miss Humaira thanks Dawn News and specially to mr.owais mangalwala for gaving his precious time and  arranging such a nice seminar and also appreciated students of Jinnah university for organising so informative seminar.
